MERRIN MARRA

Merrin Marra is a freelance writer and co-owner of Eye-Spy VFX, where she manages the creation of VFX for major motion pictures and television shows. She graduated with a BA, Summa Cum Laude with Honors, from Michigan State University, where she studied English literature with a concentration in creative writing and film theory.
Merrin also holds an MFA in Film Directing from Columbia College Chicago, where she taught intermediate film production and managed an editing lab. As a graphic artist, she has designed and authored hundreds of DVD titles, and as a mother, she has produced, with her husband, two exceptional young men.
She enjoys going to see movies in theatres, anything Hitchcock, photography, travel, and creative writing. An amateur archaeologist, metal detectorist, and rock collector, Merrin has traveled extensively throughout the American West, China, and South America, and can think of nothing more exciting than seeing the world and experiencing different cultures and traditions.
She currently resides in Los Angeles, California, with her husband, two sons, three birds, and a cat named Gink.
Merrin is also the writer/director of the children’s film, Plain and Simple, which won first place at the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival, the Big Bear International Film Festival, Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Temecula Valley International Film Festival, the Sacramento Film Festival, and the Trail Dance Film Festival.
